Very Rare Clarice Cliff 634 Vase, circa 1935 featuring the Kang glaze. This mixture of styles has been called the Nu-Chen design as painted underneath with the signature.
We have been in touch with the Clarice Cliff Collectors Club and the following information has been provided by themselves and the author of the Comprehensive Clarice Cliff reference book, Jonathan Brough. This has also been verified as genuine by the Clarice Cliff Collectors Club. A copy of which will be provided upon sale.
This beautiful Clarice Cliff vase is in the 634 style, sometimes called the bowling ball vase. Featuring the Kang glazed and named as the Nu-Chen design, this new style has never before been seen. The 634 vase has previously been featured with different and more common designs and the Kang glaze has commonly been seen on other pot styles, but never been seen featured as a pair. This makes this Nu-Cheng pot very rare and desirable to collectors.
